Availing the gas supply is a simple process. The process includes

Once you have completed the registration formalities by filling in the form and agreement document and pay the fixed amount to the Gas Company, the connection will be provided to you. Pipeline alongwith meter, valves and regulator will be installed in your house. Once this process is over, you will have uninterrupted supply of safe fuel gas available for your requirements.

Yes you can have a connection even if you live in a rented house. However, for this the landlord, the owner of the house will have to make an application or if you want to apply for it you will have to get a No Objection Certificate from the owner for the same.

The Pipeline up to consumer’s kitchen is laid, owned and is the responsibility of Bengal Gas. In case of damage to the equipment installed at customer’s premises by the customer, applicable charges shall be recovered before replacement/rectification from the customer only. Underground low pressure pipes (poly ethylene) are laid till the building, and from the bottom of the building to individual residence GI pipes are used for piping.

The meter reader (Bengal Gas authorized agency’s person) carrying a valid ID card would come to your home once in 2 months or In absence of the actual meter reading, average/assessed bills will be generated

At present there is Nil Charges for Non Usage

The conventional appliance can be adapted to the PNG network by changing the “Nozzles” only.These are provided by Bengal Gas at no extra cost for first time conversion from LPG to PNG.

The resident will have to surrender / put the cylinders in Safe Custody within two months of obtaining PNG connection as per Mandatory requirement notification of Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG)

In case of breakdown, the same has to be communicated to the Emergency Team who will address the issue promptly. This team is functional 24 x 7. There’s regular patrolling done to avoid any kind of accidents due to leakages.

Yes, the supply is absolutely regular. The pipeline distribution network is based on an on-line supply system that consists of safety valves and regulators that regulate the pressure.

  • Flammable limit of Natural Gas (NG) is 5-15% with air whereas for LPG it is 2 to 10% with air.
  • Natural Gas is lighter than air. Therefore, in case of a leak, it just rises & disperses into air given adequate ventilation.
  • Auto Ignition Temperature of NG is 542˚C

Precautions for daily operations:

Domestic PNG customers

  • Before igniting the cooking appliances, ensure that there is no gas smell.
  • Ensure that the suraksha hose is in good condition and it is properly fixed to cooking appliance and appliance valve.
  • Open the appliance valve first, then the knob of the cooking appliance and ignite the burner immediately.
  • Ensure hot utensils or hot items do not touch the rubber hose of gas stove.
  • After cooking make a practice to close the appliance valve
  • Use only the stoves converted to run on PNG.
  • Also make a practice to close Main Control Valve/Meter Control Valve inside kitchen in night once cooking for the day is done.
  • Ensure nothing is tied or hanging on the gas pipeline.
  • Ensure that gas pipeline doesn't get hit or damaged by any work in the vicinity.
  • Ensure that you do not conceal the GI pipeline, Meter, Regulator or Appliance Valve in the wall /furniture.
  • It is advisable to use suraksha hose up to a length of one and half meter only to ensure your safety.
  • Do not install electric / telephone wires / cables very close to gas line, also do not tie them to the gas installation.
  • Do not excavate the soil above the pipeline laid underground in your premises.
  • Ensure the water / drainage line doesn't pass very close to underground/ aboveground gas installation and the same is not leaking.
  • Approach Bengal Gas for guidance if renovation or modification in the house is affecting gas installation
  • If any modification / extension / replacement of gas installation is required, please approach Bengal Gas for the same.
  • Do not use domestic connection for commercial purpose. In case such connections are identified, gas supply to the connection shall be discontinued and appropriate legal action will be taken by the company.
  • Do not carry out any modification on gas lines through unauthorized person.
  • For correction in spelling of name/ floor no. / flat no., Address please send self-attested copy of document proof at Bengal Gas office.

  • In case of any difficulty, please visit Bengal Gas Office with necessary Identity proof.
Applicant can fill the form online at website https://bgcl.co.in or Bengal Gas Mobile App. If the customer wishes to make payment for registration online, he can use various e-payment modes. If the customer wishes to make payment through cheque/ draft then take the print out of the form along with the required documents like Electricity bill/ Society maintenance bill/ rent receipt/Agreement copy and submit it at Bengal Gas Office. Please note that the application needs to in the name of the present owner of the flat.
In case you do not need the piped gas connection for some time, the supply of gas can be disconnected on receipt of a written request from the customer at Bengal Gas office.
You can request duplicate invoice copy by calling up our Customer Care Help-desk and duplicate invoice will be sent to you by email. You can also visit Bengal Gas offices and get duplicate invoice. You can also log on to our www.bgcl.co.in and get duplicate invoice.
In the event invoice shows arrears/pending payment while you have made the payment, kindly submit the proof of the payment (copy of your Bank statement showing the debited cheque ) at Bengal Gas Office. Necessary corrections shall be made in the invoice.

The invoice of PNG Bill is sent on your E-mail Id registered with Bengal Gas Save environment and reduce the Paper Wastage.

Please make online payment through ewallet / pay Bill Section of your Bank Account. Such payment are automatically updated in customer Account within 48 hrs.

In case latest Bill is not generated, Complaint will be registered for taking meter reading and subsequently Bill will be sent through email.

You may pay the current invoice. The Credit for shall be adjusted in next bill.

Please confirm that the Registration Fee and Security Deposit as per the scheme of Registration is deposited.

Bengal Gas shall take necessary action to provide connection expeditiously after receipt of Registration Fee and Security Deposit as per the scheme of Registration.
